The mission of Suncoast Credit Union is to promote education, health and the emotional well-being of children in the communities that they serve.  “Suncoast Credit Union is always looking for ways to impact the kids in DeSoto County and funding the purchase of new library books is perfect!,” stated Cindy Helton, Executive Director of Suncoast Credit Union Foundation. “We are happy to be able to address this need.”

The Media Specialist at Nocatee Elementary School, Joy Buschner gratefully stated, “There is such a need in our library for new books.  Some books are more than a decade old and were fairly worn from use.  The children are so excited to be a part of this gift and we are forever grateful.  Thank you Suncoast!”

During the 2013-14 and 2014-15 school year, Suncoast Credit Union Foundation has provided more than $17,000 to the DeSoto County Education Foundation to fund projects such as: adaptive physical education equipment for the Early Childhood Center; sponsorship to support the Employee of the Year Recognition Event;  funds for Accelerated Reader books for kindergarten classes in all three(3) elementary schools;  financial assistance with the many programs that help students in need; and, is the primary sponsor for the upcoming John Schudel Memorial A-Team Challenge scheduled for May 2015.

Thank you Suncoast Credit Union and it’s many members!
