Family
My husband, Mike, is the electrician for the school district, and my daughter Isabella is in 2nd grade at MES. Prince is our 3 year old crested gecko, and Rocky & Marshmallow are our new kittens.
Hobbies & Interests:
October through March, I coordinate the free family activities downtown with Saturday Night Lights. When I’m not working on school preparations, I enjoy playing games, watching movies, riding my bike, and listening to music.
Why I became a teacher:
Ever since 2nd grade, I knew this was the path I would take. My teachers inspired me to ask questions, seek additional knowledge, and discover new interests. Being a teacher provides the opportunity to engage children in a positive and rewarding environment with a goal of instilling a life-long love of learning. When students walk in my classroom, I want them to know they are important, loved, and will always be supported, even after they leave my class.
Most rewarding moments as a teacher:
When children struggled in previous years or lacked self-confidence, watching their self-image improve as they begin to believe in themselves. This increases their desire to succeed, motivates them, and ultimately improves their ability to learn.
Something most people don’t know about me:
I’ve played trumpet for almost 30 years and continue to play in the Arcadia Community Band.
