The change drive was a big hit for DeSoto County this Saturday! McDonald's, Arcadia Police Department and the DeSoto County Education Foundation partnered together to raise money for a scholarship fund. Just over $1200 was donated in 8 hours!!! Last May, several members of the DHS Class of 2016 walked out of the Turner Agri-Civic Center with more money than they had when they walked in. Scholarships totaling $682,690 were awarded to members of the class by local businesses, local service organizations, local civic organizations and in memory of local residents.
