DCEF is proud of the programs and projects that we sponsor and we are extremely fortunate to have many sponsors and donors who make this possible. In an effort to showcase the programs and the benefactors of these projects, the foundation hosted the monthly DeSoto County Chamber of Commerce Luncheon on April 15, 2015.
Students and teachers were on hand to showcase a few of the projects funded by the Mini-Grant program; high school students displayed STEM classroom projects; students involved in the Leader in Me program at West Elementary talked with guests about the many skills they have learned; a graduate of the Family Literacy Academy talked to the group about the impact that the program had on their family; the DeSoto County Sheriff, Will Wise, spoke about the successful Project Graduation program; the BackPack program that the foundation sponsored was explained and the Teacher of the Year spoke to the group about his career choice.
Sponsors of the event were Mosaic and The Catering Sisters.
