Throughout the year, almost every student in DeSoto County schools are helped in some way by the DeSoto County Education Foundation. And many students are helped in significant ways — participating in a new kind of learning experience, for example, or receiving a college scholarship.

You can see the Foundation’s impact in the obstacles that are removed from the path of learning. A teacher needs books for a classroom library, children need shoes or jackets on cold days, students need a Science Fair materials and backboards, a hungry child needs food so he/she is not hungry on the weekend, a bright high school senior needs financial help so that he can attend college and be the first one in their family to do so.

DCEF is the community’s way of helping children and youth surmount these obstacles. All of this impact is an outcome from the foundation’s work to help children and youth realize their potential. For our community and our world, nothing is more important. Consider volunteering your time of making a financial gift to help us make even more impact on the students in DeSoto County schools.
