The DeSoto County Education Foundation provides financial and volunteer support for DeSoto County students in the following ways:
- Provide matching funds to offer teacher/classroom mini-grants and project materials for innovative programs
- Annually fund 20 GED testing scholarships
- Recipient of a Barbara Bush Family Literacy grant for the Family Literacy Academy
- Recipient of a Blue Cross/Blue Shield grant for the Family Literacy Academy
- Recipient of a Wal-Mart Foundation grant to assist with the BackPacks for Kids food distribution program
- Recipient of a Bank of America Foundation grant
- Partner with All Faiths Food Bank and Mosaic to offer the Back Pack program and Food Pantry Program at the high school
- Host a Chamber of Commerce Luncheon and highlight many of the programs that the foundation sponsor
- Active member in the DeSoto County Chamber of Commerce
- Participate in Leadership DeSoto by offering tours of facilities and visits to classroom programs
- Coordinate the recognition event for the Employee of the Year ( Teacher of the Year / Rookie Teacher of the Year / Support Employee of the Year )
- Participate in the New Teacher Orientation program
- Assist with the DeSoto County High School Top 10% Recognition Event
- Coordinate as the fiscal agent for PROJECT GRADUATION
- Provide financial assistance to Links 2 Success
- Provide financial assistance to the John Schudel High School Challenge Team scholarships
- Act as the fiscal agent for private donors and corporate sponsors to provide scholarships for DeSoto County High School graduates
